Presumably, your login script above expects to be sent a prompt that
looks something like "Protocol: ", to which it should reply with "ppp"?
If so, use the ppp(8) interactive terminal mode to confirm that you are
actually getting that prompt.

See the ppp(8) manual page for a description of the term command.
