I have also set the class and classpath variables right. But if I want to compile a file helloWorld.java=20 I get the following error ... javac helloWorld.java /usr/local/jdk1.1.8/bin/i386/green_threads/javac: = /usr/local/jdk1.1.8/bin/i386/green_threads/java: not found=20 Trying to run a class file yields the following... java helloWorld exec: /usr/local/jdk1.1.8/bin/i386/green_threads/java: not found=20 Though the path and the files all exist.
