Sounds like you're scribbling something there, but it's a bit hard to 
tell.

The message above doesn't come from your probe function; it's likely to 
have come from something later on.  

Put 'options DDB' in your kernel config, and after the panic type 
'trace' at the 'ddb>' prompt.  This will give you a stack trace, which 
is where you need to start.
