Bill Paul <wpaul@FreeBSD.org> added a driver for that chip to -stable on
October 1st.

If you upgrade your 4.4 installation to a newer snapshot of -stable (or
cvsup and do a make buildworld) and add the bge driver to your config, that
should do the trick.
