I also have sites with Alcatel ADSL modems with this problem. The problem is how to get the pppoe via ppp to re-dial or re-connect following a disconnection via the DSL network. So far I can kill off ppp and restart it manually or reboot the gateway box (freebsd 4.6). I'm sorry if this should have been posted to a ppp mailing list instead, but I didn't find one. Maybe someone else has already worked this out. I tried redial 0 0 in ppp.conf. My thought was to create a daemon to test the connection via occasional pings and to have that daemon kill off ppp and restart it. Redialling works fine for me on modem dialups but not with PPPoE / ADSL Regards, Allan McDonald To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-stable" in the body of the message
