hi, after having startx work for root I added a user using adduser. Only to find that startx no longer works for the user (user is using the bash shell). I checked the following: path in both /.profile and /root/.profile was set to /usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usrX11R6/bin When startx is entered for user it says command not found. Confirmed that startx (and xinit) exists in /usr/X11R6/bin with r/x permissions for all three octal groups.
