Take a look at the PAO patches.  You'll have to run something reasonably
current (2.2-ALPHA) to apply them, but it includes support for many PCMCIA

I have a Dell Latitude LX I set up with this a few days ago and it is
flying with hotswap and DHCP :)

Read the PAO info closely, some cheap bridges aren't supported.
