Directly after the PC beeps (start of boot) I get a CPU register dump
and the system is halted:

Same happens with SNAP-19990105. Exact same output.

System is an Intel DK440LX with Dual PII-300, 256MB memory,
IDE harddisk, on-board SCSI Adaptec AIC-7895 with several
SCSI drives.
