I applied the Patch to the qemu-devel port on FreeBSD/AMD64 current. When I tried to use my Windows_XP image, it would load but the display would respond slowly. I browsed the QEMU SVN repository and found that this problem was fixed in r6375. I have since updated to r6391, and no longer have any problems with the display. I have been able to use qemu to boot both a Fedora 10/i386 and Windows XP without them crashing. Scot
