But Xing > has proven that it's doable. Well, try to find out more about it . Because the Xing Xtreamwork which I used in the past used a PC with dedicated hardware to do the encoding. The server ran in an SGI box and received the encoded audio stream from the PC box. I hope that soon we will have dedicated hardware which can do hardware audio and/or video encoding At any rate, I think someone should look into to see if mpeg audio encoding can be done in software.
