: I have a simliar problem if I'm in XFree86-4 with the mouse working fine,
: and then switch to a console (ctrl-alt-Fx), and then back into X. The
: mouse just hangs. I can re-get control of the mouse by restarting the
: Xserver (in xdm, ctrl-alt-backspace).
:
: My mouse settings from /etc/X11/XF86Config:
:
: Section "InputDevice"
: Identifier "Mouse0"
: Driver "mouse"
: Option "Protocol" "Auto"
: Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
: EndSection
:
: My mouse is PS/2.

A patch went into the XFree86-4 meta port that should fix this
particular problem. It had been kicking around in the freebsd
mailing lists for quite a while .. [ I (definitely not the author
of the patch!!!!) finally remembered to pester the maintainer :)]
