I usually run this to check for updates. It gets me the latest ports tree updates, updates the packages, tells me if there are any out of date because packages haven't been built yet, waits 10 seconds ( allowing me to hit ctrl c to abort if I choose to) and the portupgrades the rest. portsnap fetch update && pkg upgrade && pkg version -vIL= && echo "running portupgrade -a; hit ctrl c to abort" && sleep 10 && portupgrade -a Brian On 5/16/2015 11:15 AM, Ardie H.
