Thanks for the hints, Pav!  I believe I have now identified all sources
of this in all recent versions of GCC and already submitted a first patch
upstream.

If things go according to my current schedule, lang/gcc41, lang/gcc42 and
lang/gcc43 should be fixed properly (i.e. upstream and in the ports) within
less than a week for the C and Fortran frontends; Java is more complex and
may take a bit longer.

I'm afraid I may have missed the relevence for my lang/gcc* ports;
sorry for that!

(A pointyhat run for such a setting would have been helpful before
making this chance in src.)
