I quite sympathize with you Mr Yon. I'll give you one piece of little advise that worked for me. And it was motivated by you!! I've been in a dilemna with my printer all these days and even posted something on the lists and got the same reponses like you - which of course did not help me. However just today I've gotten my printer working, thanks to APSFILTER. Apsfilter is in the ports collection. I run FreeBSD 4.1-RELEASE as a personal workstation but I have a Server running 3.4-RELEASE and I checked it out and found that apsfilter is in the ports too. Andreas (the guy in charge of it) included a cute SETUP script which I ran with sh SETUP (I'm not sure if there is one in 3.4 but I promise you it is worth the trouble looking for it. If it doesn't then consider getting the newer version, even if it means updating your ports tree!!) This script did EVERYTHING for me. All I have to do now is to figure out how to tell Samba that other people on the network also like printing to my HP Deskjet 895Cxi Good luck!! Wash Thus spake Yon Thulung_rai (yanraiwelcome@hotmail.com): > Hi, > > All you guys are telling me that read shit manual which confuse me more than > any handbook I have read it. > > Off course I have read it many times; this shit doesnn't explain me straight > forward. > > > >Read the part of the handbook that discusses fixing the stair-step effect. > >Another option (recommended!) would be to use a better input filter for > >printing.
