https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D201461 --- Comment #17 from Matthew Fioravante <fmatthew5876@gmail.com> --- I'm getting this issue as well, but perhaps I can shine some light on the cause. I've got a GeForce GT 710B. I'm on 11.0-RELEASE-p2 using nvidia-driver vers= ion 367.44_3. I had my system running in BIOS legacy mode before, and everything worked f= ine. I was using the nvidia-modeset.ko module and I was able to switch between console and X, stop X, restart X, etc.. I rebuild the system to boot using uefi and I've switched the BIOS to run in EFI mode for everything. I did this in order to try to solve a different problem. Now I have this same issue as the bug reporter. As soon as I start X, I am = no longer able to switch to the text consoles. Nor am I able to switch back to= X. The screen turns black. This is likely some issue with efi framebuffer the nvidia driver. Maybe incompatibilities in the framebuffer. Maybe its some issue with enumerating /selecting pci devices, as that information would certainly be different co= ming from BIOS vs EFI. I've attached my nvidia-bug-report.sh output. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
