The following reply was made to PR kern/100609; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Maxim Konovalov <maxim@macomnet.ru> To: Wayne M Barnes <wayne@etaq.com> Cc: bug-followup@freebsd.org Subject: kern/100609 Date: Mon, 18 Sep 2006 18:37:30 +0400 (MSD) Hello Wayne, I think UPDATING in RELENG_6 and HEAD is OK: $ grep 'reboot in single' /usr/src/UPDATING <reboot in single user> [3] <reboot in single user> [3] $ grep -A 8 '\[3\] ' /usr/src/UPDATING [3] From the bootblocks, boot -s, and then do fsck -p mount -u / mount -a cd src adjkerntz -i # if CMOS is wall time Also, when doing a major release upgrade, it is required that you boot into single user mode to do the installworld. I don't think RELENG_5 is relevant at this point but let me know if you want to see this changes in RELENG_5. -- Maxim Konovalov
