This box is acting as a database/mysql server and periodically goes up to 400 of load average values and then gradually returns to a normal 4-5 value. The server is a dual Xeon with 4G phisical memory, mysql 4.0.7/linuxthreads. During the highest load, the amount of Inact memory remains of about 2G, and swap is used only minimally, so this cannot be the case. There are no messages in a system log or mysql log. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks is advance ---- Alexander Varshavchick, Metrocom Joint Stock Company Phone: (812)118-3322, 118-3115(fax)
