I'm inclined to agree. I don't think it's python because mailman is running happily via a cron job and I've never received any cron output with this message. Similarly, the system itself has been extremely reliable having done buildworlds and package builds successfully. I'm beginning to suspect that something in the py-MySQLdb c-wrapper code= is misbehaving. Perhaps a repeated free or somesuch.
