depends on your definition of "other software" :-)
FreeBSD is an operating system - some people say "unix-like", I call it
"unix". FreeBSD is NOT application software.

no, it will work instead of WinNT, and better and quite a bit more
reliable and stable, and faster at that ... And it's not by Microsoft!
