Same problem. Xorg 7.4 crashes my system (Thinkpad X61 with Intel GMA X3100=
 ) when stopping/restarting the xserver.

 I tried a fresh install of 7.2-RELEASE i386, upgraded to 7.2-RELEASE-p2 and=
  installed everything from ports.

 xorg-server-1.5.3_5,1 (compiled without HAL)
 xf86-video-intel-2.5.1

Problem doesn't occur with VESA driver. No dump or other relevant logfile o=
utput found after reboot. Many thanks for help!=0A=0A=0A
