There was a previous discussion of this error message:

The response from Kris Kennaway suggested that it might be ithread 
pre-emption and that you could try backing out 
src/sys/i386/i386/intr_machdep.c (to rev. 1.5).

It seems to be a sporadic problem that can be worked around by simply 
retrying the operation that failed...
