I suspect the problem you're *really* having is that the first 
connection will never work if you've got a dynamic IP address.  The 
connection is initiated using one IP, and by the time the packet is 
actually sent, the interface has been assigned a different IP and 
your ISP never routes any of the traffic back.

I'm working on fixing this at the moment.
