Or this may be a bug on FreeBSD 6.X and 7.X You didn't read the login.conf manpage: The minpasswordlen and minpasswordcase facilities for enforcing restric- tions on password quality, which used to be supported by login.conf, have been superseded by the pam_passwdqc(8) PAM module. -- Mel Problem with today's modular software: they start with the modules and never get to the software part.
