There's nothing new to report. I've been running with my hack since I've opened the PR. Maybe we should just install my hack until a more permanent and more elegant fix can be found. From what I can gather from Bruce's comments, I suspect that the VM rewrite that John Dyson is doing might be the permanent fix for this.
