Subject: soft-updates on a file-backed md (vn) device?

Is there any benefit (reduced IO) to enabling soft-updates on a
file-backed md device (formerly vn), even though the filesystem on which
the backing file lives already has it enabled?

Thanks for any comments!

Grisha
