Then why was it heavier than the standard version?  Otherwise, they
could have used the 'stock' versions (which we ended up doing, but then
we added titanium outer cases custom made for SRI to make them more
rugged).

I was being sarcastic.  'Laptop' implies something you can stick on your
lap.
