I'm guessing you're upset about the build checking with newvers.sh?

Why is this a problem?  It seems like if I implemented what I said
(barfing on interactive installs during BETA period unless a variable
is set) it would prevent foot shooting and stupid questions while
still allowing for the -BETA testing period for ports people.
