   There're similar report on a recent cvs-src thread.  Temporary 
workaround: Detach the CD-ROM.

   BTW, since you're also a T4x user, I'm wondering about whether Fn-F7
(switch between external VGA output and LCD) still works for you with
-CURRENT?  On my T40, Fn-F7 would lockup the system w/o core dumping
(-CURRENT as of 2005.05.04 CST).
