I am using the Adaptec AHA-2740T eisa fast SCSI controller. I read about the extended translation in the manual, and I sure wish I had known about this earlier. The real solution is to turn off the extended translation, as the DOS slice would be less than 1 gig. I will try to use the Geometry option and I hope it works, as yet once again, I might have to nuke the drive and start over. :-(( Thanks for your excellent and fast support. Joe
