I'll assume that was meant to say 'unable to mount root' Setup your drives like: wd0: HD master CD slave wd1: HD master Run Dos (6.22 or less) FDISK and blow away your previous attempts of FreeBSD file systems. Use the atapi.flp image for your boot disk. Reinstall, This time while in the Disk editor sections don't (W)rite anything!! I'll repeate, Don't (W)rite anything! Go on with the install and it should survive.. You may need Boot: -c, and go into visual config and disable any unneeded/conflicting devices!
