(hey....wait a minute....why am i doing this. ;) canonicalization, virtual hosts, spam control, etc. the .mc files go a long way to making this easier, but people still flounder. sendmail is a necessity for many sites. FreeBSD is very popular in the ISP segment and arbitrary re-writing and locally defined mailers are important to them.
