I'm not good at Linux, but I've figured out how to solve this problem. Each time you see an error message, remove t= he USB memory and insert it into another USB port, one is correct and then err= or message will never show up again. Same result when I chose other usb ports then as the chosen one. After that when I found right one , system was installed without any problems and that stupid error messaga nev= er shown up again. My advice for all users, make Bootable USB then trayng port= by port. That will take some time but after that system will working and how I said that stupid message you will newer seen again anymore. That is really = easy way but working. I tryed on 2 PC=C2=B4s and it is OK. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Sun Nov 1 20:46:11 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 22C744594EC for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:11 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (mailman.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:13]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4CPSkV6yFzz4ZRP for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id E160045992A; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:10 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: usb@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E12754595FF for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4CPSkV3V87z4Z4c for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 5CEA71E2B9 for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:10 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 0A1KkABY008822 for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:10 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 0A1KkAuR008821 for usb@FreeBSD.org; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:46:10 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: usb@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 237666] repeated messages of "uhub_reattach_port: giving up port reset - device vanished" Date: Sun, 01 Nov 2020 20:46:10 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: usb X-Bugzilla-Version: 12.1-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: needs-qa, regression X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: karels@freebsd.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: usb@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: mfc-stable12? mfc-stable11- X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.33 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 01 Nov 2020 20:46:11 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D237666 --- Comment #151 from Mike Karels --- (In reply to Rpapousek from comment #150) I think we are talking about different problems, or different manifestation= s.=20 My problem had nothing to do with install. I had installed long ago on a m= uch earlier release, and upgraded numerous times. When I got to FreeBSD 12 (12= .1, I think), I started to see these messages once per second after *every* boot even with no USB devices plugged in. That was still true with 12.2. I have since upgraded the motherboard, so the problem went with it. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.= From owner-freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Sun Nov 1 20:59:23 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id E9E4145A0A9 for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4CPT1l5xZGz4bFQ for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id CBF5045A0A8; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: usb@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id CBC11459B75 for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4CPT1l55kMz4bFP for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 941701E178 for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 0A1KxNbh022794 for ; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 0A1KxNCX022793 for usb@FreeBSD.org; Sun, 1 Nov 2020 20:59:23 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: usb@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 237666] repeated messages of "uhub_reattach_port: giving up port reset - device vanished" Date: Sun, 01 Nov 2020 20:59:23 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: usb X-Bugzilla-Version: 12.1-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: needs-qa, regression X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: rpapousek@gmail.com X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: usb@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: mfc-stable12? mfc-stable11- X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.33 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Sun, 01 Nov 2020 20:59:24 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D237666 --- Comment #152 from Rpapousek --- (In reply to Mike Karels from comment #151) OK that was my help for users who have has problems as mine with installati= on. Linux will happily cache megabytes of data, which makes the whole transfer seem to be faster. I've observed this behavior in Linux myself. dd claims to be finished but then it can take minutes before the data actually land on the target disk. This is easily seen with e.g. gkrellm2. -- Gary Jennejohn From owner-freebsd-usb@freebsd.org Thu Nov 5 16:18:03 2020 Return-Path: Delivered-To: freebsd-usb@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1613946B3D4 for ; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:03 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (unknown [127.0.1.3]) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4CRpbG72GSz4r16 for ; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) id EF95646B4F9; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:02 +0000 (UTC) Delivered-To: usb@mailman.nyi.freebsd.org Received: from mx1.freebsd.org (mx1.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:1]) by mailman.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id EF5EA46B54E for ; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::19:3]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256 client-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) client-digest SHA256) (Client CN "mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org", Issuer "Let's Encrypt Authority X3" (verified OK)) by mx1.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id 4CRpbG6MnXz4rMH for ; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org (kenobi.freebsd.org [IPv6:2610:1c1:1:606c::50:1d]) (using TLSv1.3 with cipher TLS_AES_256_GCM_SHA384 (256/256 bits) key-exchange X25519 server-signature RSA-PSS (4096 bits) server-digest SHA256) (Client did not present a certificate) by mxrelay.nyi.freebsd.org (Postfix) with ESMTPS id CDBE2168AF for ; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:02 +0000 (UTC) (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: from kenobi.freebsd.org ([127.0.1.5]) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2) with ESMTP id 0A5GI2jk069601 for ; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:02 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) Received: (from www@localhost) by kenobi.freebsd.org (8.15.2/8.15.2/Submit) id 0A5GI2j8069600 for usb@FreeBSD.org; Thu, 5 Nov 2020 16:18:02 GMT (envelope-from bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org) X-Authentication-Warning: kenobi.freebsd.org: www set sender to bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org using -f From: bugzilla-noreply@freebsd.org To: usb@FreeBSD.org Subject: [Bug 237666] repeated messages of "uhub_reattach_port: giving up port reset - device vanished" Date: Thu, 05 Nov 2020 16:17:58 +0000 X-Bugzilla-Reason: AssignedTo X-Bugzilla-Type: changed X-Bugzilla-Watch-Reason: None X-Bugzilla-Product: Base System X-Bugzilla-Component: usb X-Bugzilla-Version: 12.1-STABLE X-Bugzilla-Keywords: needs-qa, regression X-Bugzilla-Severity: Affects Some People X-Bugzilla-Who: bz@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Status: Open X-Bugzilla-Resolution: X-Bugzilla-Priority: --- X-Bugzilla-Assigned-To: usb@FreeBSD.org X-Bugzilla-Flags: mfc-stable12? mfc-stable11- X-Bugzilla-Changed-Fields: Message-ID: In-Reply-To: References: Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-Bugzilla-URL: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/ Auto-Submitted: auto-generated MIME-Version: 1.0 X-BeenThere: freebsd-usb@freebsd.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.34 Precedence: list List-Id: FreeBSD support for USB List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Thu, 05 Nov 2020 16:18:03 -0000 https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D237666 --- Comment #153 from Bjoern A.
