Hi Uli,

a very simple ntp.conf could look like this:

#ntp.conf
server 129.132.2.21

That is the timeserver swisstime.ethz.ch (which I use). Then start the ntpd
with ntpd -c /etc/ntp.conf (assuming you created the file there). Work fine
for me.
