I may have lost email at some point, but I don't see anything of proposed patches in my inbox, only the long argument and one message saying approximately "XFree86 fonts are obsolete, here is a website with updated fonts." Are you talking about the commit you backed out? Do the new fonts include the koi8-u characters?
