I'm attempting to install FreeBSD for the first time (following the directions on the web page), and I ran into a glitch that I can't seem to work around. Here's what happens when it dies: . . . a whole bunch of kernel boot messages . . . changing root device to fd0c panic: double fault I tried the stock kernel configuration, and I tried a cut down one which only had the stuff I needed - and the same thing happens each time. I even tried a different floppy, just in case the first one had errors - no luck. What is likely to cause this error? Trouble reading the floppy drive? What should I do next? Cheers, - Jim --==_Exmh_1654940192P Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE----- Version: 2.6.3a iQCVAwUBM7zDDuQz770qyIfJAQFyHAP/bvWQXWl5wTNEsWFI+WuIYYoZEwwwQFFR LWzFIPta8z7VsN/6cdBlBUuOTqBWpmLbzf/SqtIPRNBPM/pQ7itq03PBpWSgnDs1 fEdcvhonh/Eo2MKsqo0No2Ynl04DySZlGjmItEX1ktlgwi8oLWv8svkpS380ffgd cv2UCHBn+EQ= =LE83 -----END PGP MESSAGE----- --==_Exmh_1654940192P--
