The port has other idiosyncrasies, like support for the client cache interface which have been deprecated in 2.1, replaced by no-ops in 2.1.13 and completely removed in 2.2. The authors should test with a supported OpenLDAP version, otherwise the port will be broken when OpenLDAP 2.1 is removed from the tree. -Oliver
