On the subject of the DFE-570TX cards, they work well with 3.x and the 
de driver as long as you use them in half-duplex mode.  For full
duplex operation, the dc driver in 4.0 is preferable.

We have a number of hosts with 16 ports stuck in them doing various
routing jobs.

I remember being told that the de driver had a 16 port limit.  I don't 
know if the dc driver has this limit, or what's involved in raising
it.
