ok! it's late ... again! i will try/read more tomorrow.
i'm too tired to think clear tonight. thanks to you and 
also to joe.

now because i've done what i should do. the only chance to write you
this mail is xdm and twm. back to the beginning: i'm overseen something?

what i've done: 
1. reinstall fontconfig that i'm sure to get a fresh fonts.conf
   and let them untouched.
2. for testing reasons i've renamed local.conf
3. start fc-cache -f -v by hand and the output looks good.
4. the result:
   No fonts found; this probably means that the fontconfig
   library is not correctly configured. You may need to
   edit the fonts.conf configuration file. More information
   about fontconfig can be found in the fontconfig(3) manual
   page and on http://fontconfig.org
