Did any of these changes break something with softupdates?  I just cvsup'd
a -stable box, and on the first reboot with the new kernel I got a "giving
up on 1 buffers" and the filesystems were automatically fscked on the
reboot.

(A subsequent reboot did not have that problem, but I didn't do anything
other than boot and shutdown -r now.)
