For a typical end user site handling a single domain it is completely painless. If you're an ISP or otherwise involved with handling several domains, have lots of secondary MX's, anti-spam rules etc.. you'll need to spend some time working out a new sendmail.cf. 8.9 will build out of the box and if you need to you can generate a new .cf in the cf/cf directory and test it while leaving your current setup intact. > What files should I backup? restore? Just sendmail and newaliases if you don't test thouroughly before final install.
