I tried to download rc4, and even from a 1 meg line the ETA was near 16
hours. I then took a dig at the mirrors, but they either didn't carry the
ISO, or it was listed as some ridiculous size - 40 megs or so.

If the release team thinks more time is needed, take it. A 'release date'
is nothing more than an arbitrary number, and I think everyone would prefer
a slightly-delayed quality product than an on-time one with
problems. We're not talking about months or years of waiting; a few days
or a week or two is a very acceptable delay.
