FreeBSD miryanote 6.2-RELEASE-p6 FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE-p6 #28: Wed Jul 18 18:55:05 EEST 2007     mirya@miryanote:/usr/src/sys/i386/compile/MY-LITE  i386
>Description:
Using java/linux-sun-jdk16 as a JVM I'm trying to run a sample application with it and then its jconsole to connect to the first (as a local process). jconsole is neither able to connect to that application nor to itself.

I'm unable to test if this is true for native jdk16 (jconsole / management & monitoring is available in 1.6+) due to the fact it fails to build for me, so maybe it has same problems
>How-To-Repeat:
1) install java/linux-sun-jdk16 and set wrappers to use it use it (export JAVA_HOME=...)
2) cd /usr/local/linux-sun-jdk1.6.0/demo/jfc/SwingSet2 && java -jar *.jar
3) jconsole
4) Try to connect from jconsole to either itself (jconsole) or SwingSet2 running
5) both fail
