OK, that's very likely, it's a 64M system. Would it be possible to compile (for test only) a kernel that only recognized, say, 12M, and run bonnie on that? Would setting MAXMEM in the kernel configuration do that? Would 12M be a reasonable value? Should I do the test in single-user, or multiuser? I'm offering to wedge my machine again, I must be drinking too much coffee! As far as where the file sits: /dev/da2e 1961715 898304 906474 50% /usr/local as you can see, it's only half full. What might I do to make the test more fair (as compared to Jorg's results? (private to Jorg: I don't know how to tickle the keyboard to get the diuresis(sp?), I can't spell your name any closer.) ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- Chuck Robey | Interests include any kind of voice or data chuckr@glue.umd.edu | communications topic, C programming, and Unix. 213 Lakeside Drive Apt T-1 | Greenbelt, MD 20770 | I run picnic (FreeBSD-current) (301) 220-2114 | and jaunt (Solaris7). ----------------------------+----------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message
