It's a matter of patching and testing ports, some from patches that are not known to be correct, and correcting errors, and finally making a decision whether the port is ok,broken, or outta here. Oh yeah, I have to spend Thursday sittting around at the Unemployment Office while they try to tell me how they can help me get a job in an industry where the jobs aren't advertised, you must go through a recruiter, and any firm will let you starve before they'll hire you for even $1k less than you made at your last position. I'm at the top end of the pay scale for what I do, and I'm 40, which is two strikes against me right there, since age discrimination is rampant in the IT industry, because of the "you'll stay unemployed rather than be underpaid" rule. I've heard the word "overqualified" too many times .... So I really only have today and tomorrow to work on this. It doesn't help that I'm the only committer involved right now... if you're not a committer already on the KDE-FreeBSD project, there's probably not a lot you can do. Wish me luck. -- Alan Eldridge Unix/C(++) IT Pro, 20 yrs, seeking new employment.
