The recent problem with Cobalt RAQs really had nothing to do with the kernel. It was related to poor security practice on Cobalt's part (putting the root home and web home in the same place) and could have easily been fixed without any modifications to the OS itself - it was not a Linux problem, it was an oversight on Cobalt's part. It would have been nice to simply see them quickly release an announcement with suggested fixes (as said before, the numerous fixes are quick and easy). However, it showed immaturity on Cobalt's part when they attempted to blame the OS. Still, quite discouraging. -- Mike Hoskins Systems/Network Administrator SEI Data Network Services, Inc. http://www.seidata.com "In a world where an admin is rendered useless when the ball in his mouse has been taken out, its good to know that I know UNIX." -- toaster.sun4c.net To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
