It looks like you are mixing up something: Either you run your machine
diskless (that is your kernel is loaded over the net and that kernel plus
the following mounts etc. determine the behaviour/setup of your system)

or

You boot from a floppy with a special kernel which would require being
able to make releases.

I assume you don't want to run the latter.

To achieve the former build /sys/i386/boot/netboot/netboot.com
and put it on a (ick) DOS bootable floppy - it would be interesting to
find a way to circumvent having to boot DOS btw.

Read up the chapter 'diskless operation' (or something) in the
handbook.html.
