Just a quick pointer on this. The xorg development repo should have support for radeon KMS, just use the xf86-video-atikms driver. It should also automatically load the correct kernel modules when starting X. See https://wiki.freebsd.org/Xorg for details on how to get the xorg-dev repo. Regards! -- Niclas --
