I have a hard time buying that this would happen unless there was
an unresolvable mapping conflict.  If that happens, it is correct
for the hardware to remain disabled, since the machine would be
(probably) non-functional with it enabled.

I'm not sure if it is or not; it has been a while since I looked
at Sujal's code.  I was under the impression that it was wholly
complete, and the missing pieces were all driver and kernel code
integration (assuming you don't take Sujal's patches, verbatim).

In any case, general PNP support code is a Good Idea(tm).
