Xorg now tries to autodetect your hardware and configure a working setup on the fly with no xorg.conf. This autodetection usually works well; if it doesn't, go through the traditional steps of creating an xorg.conf manually and move it to /etc/X11. So, on a clean install with Xorg 7.3 there will be no xorg.conf file yet 'startx' might work in many cases due to this new autodetection and aut= oconfiguration. --=20 Chess Griffin GPG Public Key: 0x0C7558C3 http://www.chessgriffin.com --Sig_/70JUx0xEO8F8i8Z5ykQLwSs Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=signature.asc -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.4 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFHqEndKzd9mAx1WMMRAjKDAKCAOQqR0SUjiYysZUNu8afKlb6iQACcCz24 Ybgdy0vOcVZkscy4btDsm8U= =Mlia -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --Sig_/70JUx0xEO8F8i8Z5ykQLwSs--
