Nobody mentioned Beastie, Puffy and Tux. Tux is the Linux mascot, it
isn't associated with a specific Linux distribution. As Beastie and
Puffy for different BSDs, Linux distributions could have their
individual mascots, too, but in the end all distros follow the penguin.
